Model of Achiropita
Description
The work in silver is prior to the bust of Our Lady of Achiropita. It is a model of the statue which nowadays is carried in the procession . The little simulacrum , adorned with crown and silver angels , is kept in a canopy. This detail makes us conjecture , as Mons. Luigi Renzo writes (L. Renzo, The Diocesan museum of Rossano, Rossano 2002, p. 42) that the work was carried in procession .
