Tabernacle

Description

The wooden tabernacle, covered in golden bronze and ebony, was given to the church of Saint Peter by Duke Agostino Saluzzi in 1648.
It is attributed to the Neapolitan manufacture and almost surely , at the beginning, it must have been different from the present conditions. Probably some parts of the structure went lost and at the beginning the manufacture was of the same typology of the “many – towered temple style” tabernacle, which was common in the XVII c. The work was given to the diocesan museum by parish priest D. Celestino Colisimo in 1953.
