Our Lady of the Rosary
Description
The painting , of octagonal shape, depicts Our Lady of the Rosary handing in the rosary at Saint Dominic from Guzman. The origin of the cult has been attributed to the apparition of Saint Mary to Saint Dominic in 1208 in Prouille , in the first monastery founded by him. The painting , kept in the museum, has been given by Jacobella Martucci .
