Story of the church

The mother church of Paludi , dedicated to Saint Clement , was built around the XVI c. Outside it has a portal of 1578 which has on itself a valuable, precious rose window ; inside the three naves are bounded by magnificent brick pillars .In the Church there are XVIII century stuccoes and marbles as well as many works of art, among which the paintings by Onofrio Ferro from Paludi. He painted in all the diocesan territory in the XVIII century. In the mother church of his town he made two paintings: one of 1736 reproduces the Baptism of Jesus, the other , of 1740, depicts the crowning of Saint Clement Pope. On the altar there is an engraved, wrought, embossed silver table Cross . It is of Neapolitan manufacture and dates back to 1798. Also a precious wooden Renaissance Cross is very interesting.
